Project Description:
Building a culture and understanding of philanthropy among students—as early as their freshman year—can strengthen an institution’s overall giving program. We will look at how we engage students in philanthropy and the process at NC State.
From student education on why and how philanthropy plays a role on campus, to student organizations’ involvement in fundraising, to creating engagement opportunities for students to learn more about university advancement. We will benchmark, assess, and move forward the next generation of NC State donors that feel equipped with the knowledge of the how and why of philanthropy so that they can Think and Do.
Project Outcomes:
- Holistic integration of student engagement/programming and student giving (AG & AA) in progress – happening over the next few fiscal years
- 2 student philanthropy chairs as part of AASAP
- Creation of student philanthropy council/committee in partnership with the Student Ambassador Program
