Project Description: NC State has eight affiliated foundations, most of which are college-based. Each foundation has its own bylaws, recruitment, onboarding and expectations for its foundation board volunteers. This road map project will produce a “Best Practices for Affiliated Foundations” guide for each affiliated foundations to use to strengthen the engagement, impact and functionality of each board and its volunteers. These best practices will also create a common experience for volunteers, because many of them have the opportunity to serve on multiple foundation boards over time.
Goal: We will review governing documents/operating agreements/MOUs for affiliated foundations and complete a draft of the “Best Practices for Affiliated Foundations at NC State.” This document can be used as a guide for affiliated foundations to maintain a constituent-centered focus.
